Recovery after anxiety, burnout, stress or depression begins here:

Acknowledging that you’re no longer coping the way you used to.

Forgiving yourself (and sometimes others), and practicing gentle self-compassion.

Prioritising rest and care—without guilt.

These may sound simple, but anyone who’s hit rock bottom knows:

The shame of not keeping it all together.
The guilt of saying no.
The struggle to make yourself a priority.

And when you finally slow down—don’t be surprised by the bone-deep exhaustion. Your body has been surviving in fight-or-flight, probably running on little rest, nourishment, or support.

Rest first. Forgive often.
Only then can the deeper healing begin…. And it all begins with putting YOU first.

Men’s Mental Health Matters. Suicide is the lea Men’s Mental Health Matters.

Suicide is the leading cause of death for men under 50. Many struggle in silence, believing they have to “tough it out” alone. But no one should have to fight their darkest moments without support. 

Recently, someone I care about reached out after a distressing night, caught in the grip of suicidal thoughts. Even hours later, his body was still shaking, adrenaline surging, his nervous system in overdrive. He was in full survival mode, trapped in fight-or-flight. 

This moment is why I do what I do. After three years of mindset coaching and over 30 years of navigating my own mental health, I knew how to hold space, regulate his nervous system, and help him take the next step. Breath work immediately helped him to calm down.

Now, we are working together—not just to get through the crisis but to rebuild, so he never reaches that edge again. 

I’ve lost too many male friends to suicide—good men, men who cared. The pain of those losses stays with me, and I refuse to stay silent.
