Surrender & Letting Go: A Pathway to Inner Mastery

Surrender & Letting Go: A Pathway to Inner Mastery

by Natalie | Jun 27, 2025 | Anxiety, Healing, Stress

In the realm of emotional regulation and mind mastery, surrender is often misunderstood. It’s not about giving up or stepping back in defeat. It’s about softening the grip — on what no longer aligns, what drains rather than nourishes, and what has outlived its...

Lately I’ve been spending hours refining children’ Lately I’ve been spending hours refining children’s picture book manuscripts.

It’s reminded me that wellbeing isn’t always about learning something new.

Sometimes it’s about returning to what’s already there with fresh eyes.

I’ve shared a longer reflection in the Journal segment of our website.

Your worth has never been measured by your weight. Your worth has never been measured by your weight.

As a mind-body neuroplasticity and emotional resilience specialist, I’ve noticed something shifting lately.

More and more women are raising the subject of weight during our coaching conversations.

Not because it’s the reason they’ve come to see me.

They usually arrive wanting to better manage stress, improve their sleep, regulate their emotions, or simply feel healthier.

But as trust develops and the conversation deepens, weight increasingly enters the discussion.

What strikes me isn’t the desire to lose weight itself.

It’s what often sits beneath it.

The belief that becoming smaller will somehow make us happier, more confident, more accepted… more enough.

That makes me pause.

Because no number on the scales has ever determined someone’s worth.

Somewhere along the way, we’ve started confusing thinness with health.

They’re not the same thing.

Health is so much more than a body size.

It’s having the energy to play with your children.
Sleeping well.
Managing stress.
Moving with strength.
Nourishing your body.
Laughing with friends.
Finding purpose.
Living fully.

Our bodies are not projects that need endless fixing.

They’re the homes we experience life through.

Seeking better health is a wonderful goal.

Believing you need to change your body to become worthy is not.

✨ Your body deserves care, not criticism.

Because your worth has never been measured by your weight.

There is something beautifully mindful about the c There is something beautifully mindful about the creative process.

You can’t rush it.

You have to pause, read, listen, reflect and adjust. Then trust yourself enough to let it go.

Over the past few months, I’ve been quietly working on something a little different.

Alongside my work in emotional wellbeing, I’ve been writing children’s picture books.

At first glance, they might seem like two very different worlds, but to me, they couldn’t be more connected.

Both are about helping people feel seen, are about connection and create experiences that leave someone feeling just a little more understood than they did before.

Stories have always been one of the ways we make sense of ourselves and the world around us.

As I’ve been preparing my first two manuscripts for submission, as part of a Children’s Author Certification I’ve realised that creativity isn’t about getting it perfect the first time.

It’s about returning to the work with fresh eyes, softening your grip on the outcome, and making one thoughtful improvement after another.

That feels a lot like wellbeing.

Growth rarely happens in giant leaps. More often, it’s found in tiny refinements, patience practice, and the courage to eventually say:

“This is ready.”

Whether you’re creating, healing, learning or simply navigating life, perhaps today is a reminder that progress is built one thoughtful step at a time.

Tully XO ❤️

Social Wellness Month We spend a lot of time talk Social Wellness Month

We spend a lot of time talking about movement, nutrition and sleep.

But one of the greatest predictors of our wellbeing is something much simpler.

The quality of our relationships.

The people we laugh with, who show up and those who make us feel safe enough to be ourselves.

Social wellness isn’t measured by the number of people we know, it’s measured by the depth of the connections we nurture.

This month, make time for the people who leave you feeling lighter, because sometimes the best therapy isn’t another item on your to-do list… its simply sharing a laugh with people who matter.

At Breathes Wellness, we believe wellbeing flourishes through movement, mindfulness and meaningful human connection.

🤍 Who are you grateful to have in your corner?

As I looked around the table, I was reminded that wellness isn’t only about exercise, nutrition, meditation, or sleep.

It’s also about social wellness.

Feeling connected and seen. Having people to share a conversation, a laugh, or a life update with.

In a world that often encourages us to stay busy, stay online, and stay productive, taking time to connect with others may be one of the most important wellbeing practices of all.

Thank you to those who joined us this morning... a wellness gathering with a lot of meaning.

A special shout out to @buasselection for hosting us

Happy Global Wellness Day. 💚

June is Men’s Mental Health Month. One thing we’v June is Men’s Mental Health Month.

One thing we’ve noticed through our work is that men rarely reach out because they’re feeling anxious, lonely, overwhelmed, or burned out.

More often, they reach out because they’re frustrated.

Frustrated at work, in their relationships and with themselves.

But underneath frustration is often something deeper.

Stress.
Pressure.
Loss.
Uncertainty.
A feeling of carrying too much for too long.

Many men have spent years being taught to push through, stay strong, and keep going.

The problem is that emotions don’t disappear when they’re ignored. They simply find another way to be expressed.

This month, we’re encouraging a different conversation.

Not “What’s wrong with you?”

But:

“What are you carrying?”

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, reactive, or simply not like yourself, we offer a complimentary 30-minute wellbeing consultation to explore what support might look like.

No pressure. No obligation. Just a conversation.

Those that know me well will tell you I despise th Those that know me well will tell you I despise these types of videos, but I recognize it’s the way most people operate and I was asked to do an introductory video - so here it is.

I’m Natalie, but most people call me Tully. I’m a Mind-Body Neuroplasticity and Emotional Resilience Specialist.

My work focuses on helping people better understand the connection between the mind, body, nervous system, habits, and emotional wellbeing.

My approach blends evidence-based wellbeing tools with mind-body practices including nervous system regulation, movement, mindfulness, breathwork, emotional resilience coaching, and lifestyle support.

My background spans wellness, yoga, nutrition, coaching, journalism, and advocacy work, which has given me a very holistic perspective on wellbeing and human resilience.

I believe sustainable change happens through small consistent shifts, self-awareness, and learning how to work with ourselves rather than against ourselves.

I’m really looking forward to connecting with you and seeing how I may be able to bring some more clarity, comfort, confidence and joy into your life.
